At Saudi Arabia's request, Arab foreign ministers are holding an emergency meeting in Cairo . Saudi Arabia has accused Tehran of involvement in the firing of a ballistic missile at Riyadh this month by Yemen's Iran-allied rebels. Bahrain has also blamed Iran for the pipeline fire. "There is an opportunity for a new global alliance in the region", Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot told the paper, adding that Tel Aviv wanted to " exchange intelligence to confront Iran ". (more...)

An quake of magnitude 7.2 has hit the border region between Iran and Iraq, the US Geological Survey ( USGS ) says. Eight villages were damaged in Iran from the quake, state television reported. State TV said at least six people were killed and many others injured in the town of Qasr-e Shirin.
