In another case of abduction of Indian nationals in foreign countries, six engineers working in Afghanistan have been kidnapped in Baghlan province, allegedly by Taliban militants.
The incident happened in Bagh-e-Shamal village in Baghla province.
Provincial police spokesman Zabiullah Shuja said the Indian engineers of KEC International, an RPG group company, were working on a project for the construction of a power sub-station.
Although the Taliban spokesperson told the Times of India that they have no update about the abduction, the police officials claimed that they have been told by the group that the Indians are being held by them.
The External Affairs Ministry said in New Delhi it is in touch with authorities in Afghanistan and is ascertaining the details of the incident.
