Trump to be Nobel nominee for North Korea

People are campaigning for Trump to win the Nobel Peace Prize for North and South Korea talks

But with historic changes now sweeping the world, including quite possibly an end to the Korean War, there is barely a murmur about recognizing the contributions of Donald Trump to that process.

Republicans are claiming that President Donald Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for ending the North Korean war and negotiating the end of North Korea's nuclear weapons programs.

Many people think the credit should go to Trump - so much so that he should win the next Nobel Peace Prize.

"We are seeing unprecedented progress toward peace, and it's a direct result of President Trump's strong leadership", Messer said in a statement, according to The Hill.

Trump has discussed with the leaders of key nations in eastern Asia, including South Korea and China, the US's goal of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Members of Congress are already publicly calling for a Trump Nobel Peace Prize. Let's hope that Kim is serious, and that reunification and demilitarization can bring peace and prosperity to the long-troubled Korean peninsula.

The British betting site Coral also set the odds of Trump and Kim jointly winning the 2018 prize at 2-1 - the highest on the list.

Trump also weighed in, declaring that the Korean War would end. "The United States, and all of its GREAT people, should be very proud of what is now taking place in Korea!" It may not happen, but it is the biggest change since the end of the hostilities.

Laura Ingraham had a lot to say about the ongoing peace talks between North and South Korea.
