Trump to visit United Kingdom in July

Donald Trump to visit UK on Friday 13 July

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson hailed the "fantastic" news of Mr Trump's visit.

Under domestic pressure, May said that Trump's remarks were wrong, triggering the latter's retort demanding her not focus on him, but on anti-terrorism efforts in her own nation. "Because he doesn't know me, never met me, doesn't know what I'm all about".

President Trump will make the long-awaited trip in order to spend time in talks with British Prime Minister Theresa May.

In a letter, six conservative groups who support the US President suggested he visit his "ancestral home" of Scotland instead.

The White House Press Secretary made a a vague reference that "trade" was talked about, and her deputy stated that the CEO and President Trump had "a good meeting".

The delay has raised questions about the US-UK relationship, and the working visit signals a more low-key affair than an official state visit.

After Wednesday's meeting between Cook and President Donald Trump, White House Director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow praised the Apple CEO's experience with China, and said that Cook "loves the tax cut".

The trip will be the billionaire tycoon's first visit to Britain since 2016, when he visited his Scottish golf retreat a day after the European Union referendum, and his first as president.

The UK Stop the War Coalition (STWC) group is preparing for a "widespread opposition" to US President Donald Trump's visit to the United Kingdom this July, especially in light of his "warmongering" policy and the US-led strikes on Syria, Lindsey German, the convenor of the STWC, told Sputnik Thursday.

Mr Trump had been urged earlier to stay away from London because there is a risk of "major protests, crime and disorder".

"He will also no doubt see that Londoners hold their liberal values of freedom of speech very dear".

Critics in Britain said May was too hasty in extending an invite for a full state visit, which traditionally includes a carriage ride with the queen and a banquet at Buckingham Palace.

London mayor Sadiq Khan has repeatedly declared that the American leader is not welcome in the city.

"Since moving into the White House, Mr Trump has shown an impatience bordering on intolerance toward peaceful protests, the media and even the democratic process itself".

Trump was originally set to visit the United Kingdom in February, but canceled the trip following his dissatisfaction at the site of the new U.S. embassy in London.
