He has been has been charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief after his rampage following a UFC press event in NY.

Conor McGregor was released on $50,000 bond Friday.

The backstage melee on Thursday forced the removal of three fights from UFC's biggest card of the year.

On Thursday, McGregor and his entourage arrived at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, following the end of the UFC 223 media day.

The sport's best-known athlete and an worldwide drawcard McGregor, 29, appeared before a judge at the Kings County Criminal Court, dressed in a blue, long-sleeved shirt that hid his trademark tattoos. It was not immediately known if McGregor has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

McGregor's next hearing is scheduled for June 14.

Dana White, the president of U.F.C., said on Friday that he exchanged text messages with McGregor. "The first thing when the throws the dolly through the window, Mike Chiesa, one of the fighters was sitting there", White said.

No warrant was issued for McGregor (privilege at work), but he did ultimately turn himself in knowing that the NYPD wanted to speak to him about the incident.

Golfer Tony Finau appears to dislocate his ankle celebrating hole-in-one
We have three problems in the game of golf today, and I think all of them can be handled with a variety of different reasons. Normally, that just leads to really cute shots of Masters players' children roaming about Augusta's well-manicured greens.

But now that we're nearly a day removed, I think I actually believe Dana. It was justified to him.

The former two-weight UFC champion, 29, was one of a group of men alleged to have vandalised a bus containing rival fighters, the UFC said. Flyweight Ray Borg was deemed unfit to fight due to multiple corneal abrasions.

In the video, people were seen attempting to restrain McGregor, with some managing to stop the bus from being hit by various missiles, including a metal barrier and a bin.

The UFC said in a statement that the incident was "completely unacceptable" and the organisation is working to determine consequences for those involved. He was initially stopped from throwing anything, but managed to run to the other side and shatter one of the bus windows by throwing a moving dolly. "No, this is not the Conor McGregor, is not the Conor McGregor I know". Nurmagomedov fights Max Holloway for the lightweight championship left vacant by McGregor.

During a hiatus from UFC, McGregor took up boxing and lost to Floyd Mayweather in a money-spinning bout last August. Artem Lobov, a McGregor ally who was apparently part of the incident, also was pulled from the card.

McGregor once held the 145 and 155-pound championships at the same time and boldly stated he wanted an ownership stake in UFC. Chiesa later said on Twitter that the New York State Athletic Commission determined he would not be allowed to fight on Saturday.

After White said on Wednesday that McGregor would be stripped of his lightweight belt due to inactivity, he responded with a vulgar tweet.
