Mueller subpoenas Trump business

The probe by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russia's influence on the last presidential election is about to get murky after an organisation belonging to President Donald Trump got subpoenaed.

Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller, declined to comment on the Times report about a subpoena, which was the first known time Mueller had demanded materials directly related to Trump's businesses. In the subpoena, delivered in recent weeks, Mr. Mueller ordered the Trump Organization to hand over all records related to Russian Federation and other topics he is investigating, the people said.

In recent weeks, Mueller's investigators have questioned witnesses, including an adviser to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), about the flow of Emirati money into the USA, reports The New York Times.

"My fear is that we will go into this upcoming election inviting Russian Federation to interfere again, and that if Democrats win the majority, we will be charged not only with investigating the interference in the 2016 election, but we will also have to investigate the interference that the Republicans have invited and have given a green light to in this upcoming election", Swalwell said on "The Rachel Maddow Show".

"This is old news and our assistance and cooperation with the various investigations remains the same today", NY lawyer Alan Futerfas, who represents the Trump Organization in the Russian Federation probe, said in a statement.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters at Thursday's press briefing that the president would continue to cooperate with the Mueller investigation.

Seth Meyers really wishes the Robert Mueller investigation would hurry up already.

Mueller could run afoul of a line the president has warned him not to cross.

The report that Robert Mueller has asked Donald Trump's business organisation for documents relating to Russian Federation emerged in teh New York Times. It appears that Mueller is looking into whether foreign money had any role in President Trump's political activities.

Trump campaigned as a businessman whose deal-making prowess would translate directly into reforming Washington.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Kimmel couldn't help but bring everything back to his onetime guest Stormy Daniels, who recently sued Trump, claiming their non-disclosure agreement is invalid since he never signed it.

The Trump Organization is not publicly held, making it hard to determine where it receives its money and invests it.

"Certain documents in the production reference a proposal for 'Trump Tower Moscow, ' which contemplated a private real estate development in Russia", Cohen's statement says. Schmidt noted that Trump's lawyers past year had said the probe would end by Thanksgiving or Christmas. Eric Trump has denied those remarks. He also hatched another apt simile for watching the F.B.I. investigation: "This investigation is so slow, it's like watching a porno in real time". A lawyer said on March 15 that the company has told the public since July that it is cooperating with Mueller's investigation. But the President is insisting that he wants to as he reportedly believes that he has done nothing wrong.
