E-cigarettes aren't a good option after all!

E-Cigarette Use Exposes Teens to Toxic Chemicals

Research distributed for the current week in the journal Pediatrics tells that teenagers who just smoke tobacco-based cigarettes, for example, Marlboro and Camel brands have the most elevated amounts of disease-causing chemicals exhibit in their bodies. Sixty-seven used e-cigarettes only, while 17 used both e-cigarettes and traditional tobacco cigarettes.

Study participants who used both e-cigarettes and traditional cigarettes had significantly higher levels of risky chemicals, including acrylonitrile, acrolein, propylene oxide, acrylamide and crotonaldehyde, the researchers said.

For the study, researchers analyzed saliva and urine samples from a group of teens with an average age of 16.

"Electronic cigarettes generate nicotine in the vapor".

E-CIGARETTES could increase your risk of cancer even when there's no trace of nicotine, experts have warned.

The researchers also told,"The presence of harmful ingredients in e-cigarette vapor has been established‍; we can now say that these chemicals are found in the body of human adolescents who use these products".

'Teenagers should be inhaling air, not products with toxins in them'.

Another nor'easter to blast East Coast with heavy snow, strong winds

Extreme temperatures cause water chaos across UK
Industry regulator Ofwat has criticised water companies for failing to plan for colder weather and ignoring warnings. Essex & Suffolk Water is encouraging customers to keep an eye out for bursts pipes and leaks across the region.

"Although e-cigarette vapor may be less hazardous than tobacco smoke, our findings can be used to challenge the idea that e-cigarette vapor is safe, because numerous volatile organic compounds we identified are carcinogenic", the study read. He explained that propylene glycol and glycerin, which are used to keep the products smoked in e-cigarettes in liquid form, are approved by the Food and Drug administration as safe at room temperature.

This chemical irritates the lungs when it's breathed in, and there's a chance that it could also be linked to breast cancer and brain cancer. Acrolein is found in chemical weapons. However, recent studies on adolescents showed that they were exposed to at least five toxic chemicals that could lead to cancer.

Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) are battery-powered devices regularly used as a more healthful alternative to regular cigarettes.

"E-cigarettes are marketed to adults who are trying to reduce or quit smoking as a safer alternative to cigarettes". "While they may be beneficial to adults as a form of harm reduction, kids should not be using them at all".

E-#Cigarettes have become extremely popular over the years as they are known for being less risky in comparison to conventional cigarettes.

Propylene oxide and crotonaldeyde are probable carcinogens, the EPA says, while acrylamide's role in causing cancer is more controversial.

Many studies support the theory that kids who vape are more likely to go on to use other tobacco products, but there hasn't been much hard evidence about how directly unsafe e-cigarettes are.
