UCF Wikipedia page claims Louisville's vacated 2013 national championship

NCAA takes away a Louisville title over stripperĀ parties

Hancock, who works for a financial firm in Louisville and hosts a radio show for 93.9 ESPN, said that he and many of his teammates from the national championship team had been communicating through a group text after hearing that the NCAA had denied the school's appeal.

Louisville becomes the first program in modern NCAA history to vacate a national championship.

Though he has been gone for months, the NCAA's decision to uphold the penalties handed down by the committee on infractions comes one step closer to closing the sordid, scandalous chapter that Pitino authored as Louisville basketball coach.

Louisville has lost its appeal of NCAA sanctions related to a basketball infractions case, meaning the Cardinals must vacate their 2013 national championship and a pair of Final Four appearances. However, we should all hope that this is not the end for Louisville and the Infractions Committee.

"The pain this decision has created for our fans and our players were not involved in the events in question is perhaps the most regretful result of this determination", Postel said.

What rang louder was Postel's letter addressed to "UofL Family", in which he said, "I can not say this strongly enough: We believe the NCAA is simply wrong". Former director of basketball operations Andre McGee was found to have arranged "striptease dances and sex acts for prospects, student-athletes and others, and did not cooperate with the investigation".

The NCAA first announced the penalties last June.

"Under the NCAA's own rules, this cooperation should have been a factor in the severity of the punishment". They included sitting out that season's Atlantic Coast Conference and NCAA tournaments despite a highly regarded squad.

Oil climbs above $62 amid producer promises to support markets
Trading is expected to be slower than usual due market holidays in the United States as well as Greater China and India. I don't think we're going to see a spike to the upside unless there is a direct effect on supply.

In order to stay consistent, if the Federal Bureau of Investigation finds that multiple schools paid for players in recent years, we could see banners coming down and wins being erased from the history book, as acts like these would likely classify as serious and intentional.

That banner will come down but the punishment is mostly empty.

Louisville has also been linked to an alleged kickback scheme in which basketball coaches were steering recruits to certain institutions in exchange for cash.

Following the decision, Pitino was sacked by Louisville, as was athletic director Tom Jurich. Pitino has sued Louisville for breach of contract, and Louisville has countersued.

An attorney representing Pitino did not immediately reply to a request for comment Tuesday.

News breaks about the FBI's investigation into corruption in college basketball recruiting. The NCAA has convened a commission to examine reforms to the sport in light of the scandal, which also implicated several other top programs.

Louisville went 35-5 in 2012-13, winning the school's third national title.

Louisville defeated MI in the 2013 National Championship Game.
