Sen. Nelson says he's ready to fight for International Space Station funding

The #trump administration's plan to withdraw NASA funding [VIDEO]from the International Space Station has gotten a number of interesting reactions.

The Trump administration has announced it wants to cut off funding for the International Space Station (ISS) by 2025. NASA had proposed launching the module on the second flight of the Space Launch System, which will also be the first to carry a crew, taking advantage of the additional payload capacity offered by the Block 1B version of the rocket.

Details of the budget haven't been finalized, but there are reports that indicate that this change will be included in the final budget.

The International Space Station costs NASA at least $3 billion each year. The ISS is scheduled to be decommissioned by 2028, when it will become nonoperational due to thermal and mechanical stress that it accumulated over its lifetime.

By all accounts, this budget goes against Trump's own stated desires for NASA to put a man back on the moon.

President Trump indicated that the administration has big plans for NASA.

The new policy will also "establish a foundation for an eventual mission to Mars and perhaps, someday, to many worlds beyond", the President had remarked.

They are waiting to hear whether they will be granted bail in a protracted case that could take months to even get to trial. Aung San Suu Kyi's reputation as a human rights icon has been severely tarnished after her response to the Rohingya crisis.

Mr Trump vowed that the U.S. space program "once again leads and inspires all of humanity". At the International Astronautical Congress in Australia in September, NASA and other agency heads said they were not in a hurry to make a decision on the station's future. Companies like Bigelow and Axiom need to start developing private markets, everything from space tourism to manufacturing products in microgravity.

"SpaceX and Boeing will each have a crew-capsule in operation".

NASA already has begun talks with space station partners on the cislunar outpost known as the Deep Space Gateway, which is likely to be built in cooperation with Russian Federation and other nations. This would also hurt the commercial side of spaceflight.

One issue some of these companies say they're facing is a perception that the ISS must be replaced by a single commercial station.

Last year, Trump signed an authorization act that directed NASA to find a way for the ISS to be less reliant on NASA funding.

The ISS is the largest human-made body in low Earth orbit, and can often be seen with the naked eye. The only problem would be how this project would be funded.

NASA, in turn, has said they won't comment on the budget request until it is released.
