Prabhu Ramamoorthy, residing in the country on a temporary visa was accused of abusing a 22-year-old on a Spirit Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Detroit on January 3 while his wife was reportedly seated net to him.
Prabhu Ramamoorthy an Indian national has been living in the U.S. on the temporary visa and he was caught abusing a 22-year-old girl sitting next to him.
The woman claimed she fell asleep on the plane and awoke "to a hand in her trousers and noticed that her trousers and shirt were unbuttoned", according to the criminal complaint. She immediately reported the abuse to the flight attendants.
The 22-year-old women is alleging she was awoken by the man attempting to shove his fingers into her vagina.
She added that the man shoved his fingers down her trousers to her genitals and "vigorously" moved them before she woke up, the complaint states. Ramamoorthy was arrested as soon as the flight landed.
When the flight landed at Detroit Metro Airport, Ramamoorthy was taken into custody by Wayne County Airport Authority.

Magistrate Judge Steven Whalen, who said it was a "very unusual case", ordered Ramamoorthy to be held pending trial after Jawad successfully argued that he was a flight risk and a potential danger to others around him.
Ramamoorthy's wife told officials, 'they had called the flight attendants to try to change seats. "There have been no allegations from anywhere that his behavior has ever been inappropriate prior to this incident".
Spirit spokesman Stephen Schuler said the airline is "fully cooperating with law enforcement".
