A medical examination appears to be the only obstacle standing between Everton star Ross Barkley and a move to Chelsea following a £15million deal, after Tottenham pulled their interest in the England midfielder.
Barkley played well for the Merseysiders last season under the management of Dutch boss Koeman.
The England global has now returned to training after a painstaking rehabilitation and Antonio Conte, the Chelsea head coach, wants to bolster his squad in January.
Barkley was reportedly close to joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window but in the end the deal fell through.
But Chelsea have this morning seen their odds of landing Barkley slashed from 4/9 to 1/5 - shorter than they've ever been.
Chelsea thought they had captured Barkley in the summer transfer window, only for the vaunted England global to have a last-minute change of heart and renege on a £35m move to west London.
LG to unveil 88-inch 8K OLED display
With over 33 million pixels at their disposal, the TV would certainly provide users with plenty of resolution to enjoy. However, to ensure that LG remains ahead in the race, they continue to ramp up their OLED production capacity.
But Chelsea have not dropped their interest in Barkley and are now hopeful that they can complete a deal for the midfielder by the end of Friday.
With Barkley's current contract set to expire at the end of this season, Everton look to have made a decision to cash in on him now rather than allow him to leave on a free transfer in the summer.
The England global claimed he wanted a new challenge and there was reported interest in him from Tottenham Hotspur as well as the reigning Premier League champions.
Barkley has only six months remaining on his contract, which means a reduced price could be agreed between the clubs after Chelsea offered double the amount in the summer.
He will be eligible to play for Chelsea in both the Champions League and Premier League.
