Death toll from Kabul suicide attack rises to 13: officials

The Islamic State took responsibility for the attack through its news outlet Amaq.

A suicide attacker blew himself up near the crowd of police and protesters, killing at least 11 people and wounding 25 others, officials said.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said Pakistan was deeply saddened by the loss of previous lives in the terrorist attack.

Wahid Mujro, a spokesman for the Health Ministry, said 15 wounded were treated at Kabul hospitals.

On Thursday afternoon, dozens of locals and shopkeepers launched a protest in the area to reject the allegations against them which said they sell alcoholic drinks in their shops.
