Hollywood's most celebrated women have launched an anti-harassment action plan in an attempt to fight the systemic sexual harassment in the industry, and support women in all workplaces who aren't privileged with the platform to speak out.
According to the New York Times, Time's Up was originally convened not long after the initial complaints against Weinstein emerged, and they have been working on a concrete program since then.
The letter kicked off an initiative titled, "Times Up", which features a coalition out "to help survivors of sexual assault and harassment across all industries challenge those responsible for the harm against them and give voice to their experiences".
One of Time's Up major aspects is a legal defense fund for which the organization is now soliciting donations via a GoFundMe.
The group established a legal fund administered by the National Women's Law Center and led by Tina Tchen, former chief of staff to Michelle Obama, and noted attorney Roberta Kaplan, who is representing one of the women who have accused producer Brett Ratner of sexual harassment and abuse.
The initiative comes following the response from 700,000 female farmworkers, who wrote to Time Magazine in November in solidarity with the men and women of Hollywood who had come forward.
Northwestern Outlasts Kentucky In Music Bowl Thriller

The goal is to provide subsidized legal support to those who have faced harassment or assault in the workplace. It also seeks to bring gender parity to Hollywood studios and talent agencies, while penalizing companies that tolerate persistent harassment.
Time's Up also is backing the movement for women to wear black, in solidarity with those who have been sexually harassed, at Sunday's Golden Globes ceremony.
Television producer Shonda Rhimes and actresses Natalie Portman and America Ferrera are among the supporters.
The group insisted that more women must be brought into positions of power and leadership, while every woman should have equal benefits, opportunities, pay and representation.
While the group announced itself to the world this week, meetings actually began back in October and have been taking place weekly ever since.
