93-Year-Old Woman Evicted, Arrested for Not Leaving Home
A 94-year-old Florida woman was arrested after she refused to leave her care home after being evicted, according to WFTV.
Fitzgerald was placed in a Eustis patrol vehicle Tuesday after repeatedly refusing to leave the lobby of Franklin House.
According to a police report seen by the station, Ms Fitzgerald told officers: "Unless you carry me out of here, I'm not going anywhere".
When the agents tried to get the woman out of the building, she intentionally slid off the chair to fall on the ground and resisted when the agents tried to pick her up.
Officials said she grabbed at the officers and removed the glasses from one of their faces.
Fitzgerald said she lived at Franklin House, an affordable housing facility in Eustis, for almost eight years.

Juanita Fitzgerald, 93, has a birthday coming up Friday.
Her birthday is today (15 December) but she was spared spending it behind bars after a judge handed her over to a new carer on Thursday.
But Fitzgerald denied the allegations that she didn't pay rent because she thought she was going to die soon and insisted she tried to pay in October. Fitzgerald was charged with trespassing after the nursing home where she lived called the police, saying that she had not paid her rent.
She said she couldn't understand why she was being evicted, but court records show she owed rent and would not pay. Due to her age, officers transported Fitzgerald without handcuffs to reduce the risk of injury. Moments later, a woman says "I want her to go in my vehicle - I would love for her to go in my auto". "My family is in Tennessee and I told them not to tell my son anything that's going on", said Fitzgerald. She also noted that National Church Residences owns 340 properties. I don't need no help.
A spokesperson for Franklin House, where she had been staying, told local newspaper the Orlando Sentinel they'd spent months working with Fitzgerald and presented her with safe housing options.
The old woman is heard to shout "You're hurting me!" and "Help!" and even sounds like she's crying as she is bundled into a police vehicle for resisting eviction.
