Paul Manafort reached an $11 million bail agreement with Mueller's team

Paul Manafort Says He'll Put Up Four Properties Worth $11.65 Million So He Can Leave His House

Manafort's wife and daughter also agreed to secure his bail package. Manafort has staked four of his properties on the deal; he's also forfeited three passports and promised not to travel internationally.

The deal is subject to approval by U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson of Washington, who ordered prosecutors Thursday afternoon to state their agreement with the proposed deal in writing.

Should Manafort violate the terms of the bail, the homes would be seized by the federal government. And while Manafort was able to reach an agreement with the special counsel's office about bail, it does not mean that he's reached any agreement with respect to the 12-count indictment that a grand jury returned last month against him and his longtime associate Rick Gates.

Paul Manafort has reached a $11 million bail agreement with special counsel Robert Mueller's office that would allow him to be released from home arrest and Global Positioning System monitoring, according to court documents filed on Thursday. "Liens will be placed on each property in favor of the court to reasonable assure Mr. Manafort's appearance as required".

The deal took weeks longer than the "48 hours" prosecutor Greg Andres predicted in a November 6 hearing, and came after both sides sparred over the extent and disclosure of Manafort's assets.

Mueller's prosecutorial team previously asked that Manafort's bail be set at $10 million to ensure that he would show for trial, which is set to take place sometime next year. Together, the four homes have a total net assessed value (deducting outstanding mortgages and other obligations) of $11.7 million, according to court documents. Manafort got additional passports to apply for visas when one was being used or believed to be lost, and traveled with a phone in his brother's name to protect the confidentiality of his clients.
