Former U.S. National Security Adviser Michael Flynn arrives for a plea hearing at U.S. District Court in Washington, December 1, 2017.
As part of Flynn's plea deal he agreed to "cooperate fully, truthfully, completely, and forthrightly" with the special counsel's office.
Details of the cooperation Former national security adviser Michael Flynn intends to give to special counsel Robert Mueller in his investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and after emerged around noon on Friday as a "statement of the offense was release".
"I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong", Flynn said in a statement. "We'll review everything.' I never said anything such as, 'We're going to review sanctions, ' or anything like that".
But the ABC report, which suggested for the first time that Flynn will point the finger at Trump directly, sent shudders through a market that has been breaking record after record in recent months.
In May, Trump fired Comey over "this Russian Federation thing with Trump and Russian Federation", as Trump described it. Comey's ouster was a stunning event, one that led directly to the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel for Russiagate.
Flynn appeared in court after Mueller said in a court document filed on Thursday that the ex-national security adviser "did willfully and knowingly make materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the Federal Bureau of Investigation when questioned in January 2017 in Washington, about his contacts with Russian officials. Mueller's prosecutors did not reveal the names of the officials, but indicated they were senior and within Trump's inner circle.
A December 29 call between Flynn and Trump advisers discussed the potential impact on the "incoming administration's foreign policy goals", according to a court filing Friday.

Flynn denies that he discussed USA sanctions against Russian Federation with Kislyak.
This past Valentine's Day, President Trump asked then FBI Director James Comey to stick around following a meeting with a group of national security officials in the Oval Office.
Flynn, who once headed the Defense Intelligence Agency, also admitted he lied to investigators about secretly asking Kislyak on December 22 to defeat or delay a looming UN Security Council resolution to condemn Israel's settlements in Palestinian territory.
Assuming Mueller is also using these charges to leverage Flynn - and there are always negotiations around guilty pleas like this (in this case it is believed Flynn has negotiated to avoid having his son, Michael Flynn Jr., charged) - he's just gotten much, much closer to the president himself.
Since the first allegations of Russian interference past year, Trump has dismissed it as "fake news" and an excuse for Democratic rival Hillary Clinton's stunning loss in the election.
Flynn was an early and vocal supporter on the campaign trail of President Donald Trump whose business dealings and foreign interactions made him a central focus of Mueller's investigation. In his resignation letter on 13 February, Flynn wrote that "because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently briefed the Vice President Elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian ambassador".
