Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe to speak at SMU
The newspaper later found out she was lying and traced her back to Project Veritas - known for controversial "sting" operations targeting liberal groups including CNN and Planned Parenthood in America. "We always honour "off-the-record" agreements when they're entered into in good faith", executive editor Martin Baron was quoted as saying. There have also been reports of calls from people posing as Post reporters offering money for info that would hurt Moore; the Post has a strict policy against paying for information in stories and did not pay any of the women who accused Roy Moore.
Just days after national outcry against Project Veritas' failed "undercover sting operation" in which a member of the activist organization falsely claimed to a Washington Post reporter that she was impregnated as a teenager by Roy Moore, the organization's founder is set to speak on campus Wednesday. The Post staff did the same thing it did with previous claims made by women about Mr. Moore before they posted a groundbreaking article earlier this month: They checked it out. After deciding their source's communications were in bad faith, the Post made the decision to publish the freaky account of their conversations and what they'd learned so far about her true motivation.
When confronted about a web page on which Phillips apparently said she was going to work "in the conservative media movement to combat the lies and deceipt of the liberal MSM", Phillips explained that she had interviewed with the conservative Daily Caller.
He later sent an email to supporters with the title "Our Cover is Blown!" in which he admitted that Phillips was a Project Veritas employee - calling her an "investigative journalist embedded within [The Washington Post]". "But this so-called off-the-record conversation was the essence of a scheme to deceive and embarrass us". "The intent by Project Veritas clearly was to publicise the conversation if we fell for the trap. Because of our customary journalistic rigor, we weren't fooled, and we can't honour an "off-the-record" agreement that was solicited in maliciously bad faith".

Tennessee finalizing deal with Greg Schiano to become head coach
This hire likely won't do much to inspire a fan base in Knoxville that has not had a lot to cheer about recently. Tennessee fired Butch Jones on November 12 after they dropped to 0-6 in SEC play.
The Post, while asking Phillips for documents and corroboration, uncovered discrepancies in her account, including a GoFundMe page in which she said would be joining the conservative media movement. Both this video and the recording made by the Post can be viewed here.
Then came the smoking gun: Post researchers discovered a fundraising page made by Phillips seeking financial support for a move to NY.
On Monday morning they watched Phillips walk into the offices of Project Veritas.
"We don't comment on investigations real or imagined, or imagined stings", Project Veritas chairman James O'Keefe told The Associated Press on Monday. Later, Project Veritas tried to post its own version of the interview, using the term "full video", but cutting out about half of the video: the part with Davis' questions and O'Keefe's complete refusal to answer. He distinguished the newsroom's efforts from the editorials, the paper's "institutional voice", which he said have "become quite critical".
