President Donald Trump renewed his feud with NFL players who don't stand for the playing of the national anthem on Monday, tweeting Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch should be suspended for the rest of the season if he does it again.

Marshawn Lynch was clearly looking to send a political message when his Oakland Raiders played the New England Patriots in Mexico City on Sunday.

Mr. Trump said in an early morning Monday tweet that, "Next time National Football League should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down".

ESPN points out that the Oakland running back did stand at the beginning of the USA anthem and was not "completely at attention" for the Mexican song.

According to the New York Post, Lynch has not stood for the national anthem at all-since he returned from retirement to join the Raiders this season.

"President Trump I voted for you, which I now regret". At the rally, the president said any "SOB" who kneels during the anthem deserves to be taken off the field.

Trump tweeted on Monday morning that Lynch "sat down to boos", and showed "great disrespect".

It is believed that Lynch is sitting in protest of racial inequality, a movement popularized by former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, though he has never declared that publicly. This is also the second day in a row that Trump has harangued a black sports star.

"Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal".
