Starting November 14, you'll have free access to the original Wings of Liberty single-player campaign and every Co-op Commander, and will be able to unlock access to StarCraft II's competitive multiplayer content for free. If you have already purchased this game in the past, as a return gift, you will get Heart of the Swarm game for absolutely free of cost. Even if we don't get these free games, Blizzard has lowered the barrier of entry for Starcraft 2, and we might soon see new faces in real-time strategy e-sports competitions that feature the game.

Players who already owned any version of StarCraft II prior to October 31 will receive a special Eidolon Ghost skin and three portraits commemorating their founder's status in the game when StarCraft II goes free-to-play. Company CEO Mike Morhaime announced today regarding the game and its free-to-play version compatibility.

Access to the complete 12 hour "Wings of Liberty" campaign for all players.

StarCraft II has sold millions of copies worldwide and is available for PC.

Wings of Liberty received an excellent rating in PCMag's 2010 review, nabbing props for its "wonderful story and character development", "great soundtrack", and "lasting appeal". Players will gain access after achieving 10 "first win of the day" achievements, something that Blizzard have explained will mean the Ranked mode isn't flooded with rookie players or smurf accounts. Log in between November 8 and December 8 and Blizzard will give you Heart of the Swarm, the zerg-centric second part, for your trouble. Blizzard has done a fantastic job of keeping StarCraft 2 current between paid expansions, free updates, and community events. The multiplayer mode will enable gamers from around the world to compete against each other. But, Kerrigan, Raynor, and Artanis will be uncapped for free! It will preserve the quality of the game as they said, "preserve the quality and integrity of the ranked experience" in a statement. For everyone else, the Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void campaigns will be available to purchase for just $15 each.
