16 Egyptian police officers killed in shootout in Giza

The interior ministry has said 16 policemen were killed and 13 were injured in a shootout with terrorist in Egypt's Western Desert.

BBC reported that more than 50 police officers were killed during clashes, while local media said 35 citing security sources.

In a statement released on Friday evening, Hasm claimed responsibility for killing 28 members of the country's police and security forces and wounding 32 others.

The statement said that the forces were looking for terrorists in the surrounding areas.
