Trump Plans to Release Classified JFK Documents

Artifacts from the Kennedy assassination that are preserved in the National Archives include: The bloodstained outfit Jacqueline Kennedy refused to change out of until her return to Washington a bullet found on a stretcher at Parkla

Former President George H.W. Bush signed a law in 1992 that disclosed classified records relating to the assassination, except those "where the strongest possible reasons counsel otherwise".

Most of the assassination documents (88%) have already been released, according to a JFK-related Web site that has been counting down the days, with the remainder now being released next week comprising 3,810 documents, including formerly redacted and withheld documents. "But what the files are doing and why they're important to come out is they fill in the history of the case and show us how the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Central Intelligence Agency repeatedly hid the evidence".

Most of the files are believed to be from the 1960s and 1970s, stemming from the 1963 assassination and aftermath. In his tweet, Trump seemed to strongly imply he was going to release all the remaining documents.

The National Archives has said that, pending presidential approval, it would make all the released documents available on its website in a single day by October 26. But Trump's longtime confidant Roger Stone told conspiracy theorist Alex Jones of Infowars this week that he personally lobbied Trump to publish all of the documents.

Tom Marino withdraws as Trump nominee for drug czar after lobbying reports
Trump also said yesterday he would make written declaration of national emergency on opioids next week. Blackburn announced her Senate campaign on October 5, hoping to succeed fellow Republican Sen.

Even Trump has accused America of plotting his predecessor's death, telling Fox News in 2016 that he believed the father of Republican Senator Ted Cruz had consorted with Oswald right before the shooting. Lee Harvey Oswald was convicted of his murder, with the Warren Commission appointed by Kennedy's successor, Lyndon Johnson, finding he acted alone.

Trump's tweet did allow some wiggle room for last-minute exclusions by noting that his decision was "subject to receipt of further information". But he wonders to what degree the papers will ultimately be released. Phillips, Morley said, oversaw the agency's operations against Cuban president Fidel Castro and was deeply familiar with the CIA's surveillance of Oswald in Mexico City.

"We might understand much better why they were watching Oswald".
