Alphabet Inc (GOOGL) Yanks YouTube From Amazon Echo Show

Amazon is Working on Smart Glasses That Supports AI Alexa

On Tuesday, Amazon.com Inc. said that Google has chose to drop support for YouTube on the Echo Show.

Both Amazon and Google are now developing rival voice-controlled smart home speakers, which can act as a gateway to lucrative services.

Turns out there was a technical reason: Google didn't like the fact Amazon wasn't giving users the full YouTube experience, with things like autoplay and recommendations not features on the Echo Show. Amazon chose to announce six new products today, including sequels to the incredibly popular Echo speaker.

This again isn't anything that many users aren't used to already given that Alexa has already been a regular in millions of homes via the Amazon Echo range of speakers. And from there, it brought out the star of the show: a completely updated Echo speaker with a dedicated woofer and tweeter.

The company made the hardware announcement at an event in Seattle. Amazon only started selling the Echo Show in June, which comes with a touchscreen and responds by voice command. Amazon doesn't advertise the ability to pick up calls through your phone (like you can with Alexa account calls), so hopefully you don't need to make a private call.

McCain won't 'in good conscience' vote for Graham-Cassidy bill
Richard Blumenthal speaks at the Southwest Community Health Center his opposition to a Republican-backed bill to scrap Obamacare. His opposition likely leaves the bill at least one vote short of the support needed for passage.

"We hope to be able to reach an agreement and resolve these issues soon", the Google spokesperson told The Verge.

The immediate benefits of the move will, of course, be to go for hands-free operation of the Amazon Music app. We're also pretty sure that Amazon didn't want to permanently lose the support for its new platform as it will hurt the sale of the device which one of the primary reason for adding display is digital content consumption.

The online retail giant is expected to hold a news conference at one of the company's new buildings at its headquarters downtown. It also said it has more than 5,000 people working on developing Alexa, its AI assistant.

Is Google punishing Amazon for creating a real challenger to Google Assistant?
