Mueller Probe Zeroes In On Actions Trump Took In The White House

Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein interviewed over FBI ex-director's firing: WSJ

- Ian Prior, a spokesman for the Justice Department, commenting on the fact that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has been interviewed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team regarding President Donald Trump's firing of former FBI Director James Comey.

"After that meeting there was an effort to mischaracterize the meeting, to lie to the press about what was going on at the meeting, to say they're just talking about adoptions of Russian children", Prof.

The Times reported that special counsel Robert Mueller's office had sent the White House a document outlining 13 areas of interest about which investigators were seeking additional documentation.

Administration lawyers have been scouring White House emails and asking officials for any documents or notes that pertain to the request, according to the report.

Ty Cobb, the lawyer Trump hired to provide materials related to the Russian Federation investigation to the special counsel and Congress, has told Mueller's office that he will turn over numerous documents this week. Painter explained. "He has the power to fire the FBI director but not in order to obstruct an investigation of the collusion with Russian Federation".

Pakistan open to investment by foreign companies: Khaqan Abbasi
Other meetings will be with the Jordanian King and leaders of Turkey, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Iran, the United Kingdom and Nepal. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that Pakistan is open to investment by foreign companies.

There's been a lot of news about the Mueller investigation's apparent focus on former Trump advisers Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn of late. "That's taken off", Trump reportedly said, according to a source who spoke to The New York Times. Mr Flynn wasn't forced out of the White House until about three weeks later, after it was revealed that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about his communications with a Russian official, Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

In response, Trump Jr. released a statement claiming that the meeting was "primarily" about "a program about the adoption of Russian children".

He was said to believe they may have been witness to events and discussions that he is investigating, including the decision to fire Mr Comey. So Mueller's team seems to want to know if Trump himself was trying to cover anything up in micromanaging his son's disclosures about the meeting.

The White House initially explained Comey's firing by saying Trump was acting on the recommendation of Rosenstein, who wrote a scathing memo about Comey's handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

The New York Times first reported Tuesday that Mueller's investigation was looking into the Oval Office meeting.
