This enables users to pay others without exchanging sensitive personal information such as your bank account or phone number.

In a bid to promote cashless digital transactions, Google Inc.'s UPI enabled mobile payments app, Tez, would be launched by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the capital today. The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has developed the app.

Tez works with the customers' existing bank account, which means users' money is safe with their bank and they will continue to earn interest.

Google's app isn't just another of the many mobile payment apps out there.

For security, the app uses the "Tez Shield" which Google says "works 24/7 to help detect fraud, prevent hacking, and verify your identity".

The app supports seven Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, apart from English.

But that is his method, and the Palace players are going to have to get used to it, because he will be working them incredibly hard.

Another very interesting feature that Google has embedded into this app is "Tez Cash Mode".

On Google Tez, transactions are shown like simple conversations. Beyond that, your bank may charge fees or may impose additional requirements. It will also compete against WhatsApp, which is also planning to introduce UPI payments in its app later this year. Google has partnered with four banks - Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India (SBI).

Google has joined the fleet of digital payments through launching its new app "Tez". It will be connected with bank accounts and will provide a secure and easy payment option for both online and physical purchase. The app makes use of QR scan and lets the user make or receive payments after they find the other user.

The application is available for download from Google Play Store and Apple App Store in the country. Google is expecting that digital payments in India could hit $500 billion by 2020, thanks to better availability of faster internet and increasing number of smartphone users.

Each transaction is secured with the user's UPI PIN and the app is secured with a Google PIN or screen lock methods such as fingerprint, the company said. After the verification, Google will ask the users to add a UPI PIN to start making payments.

Google has launched a feature called Cash Mode where one can pay without sharing bank details or phone number.
