Rudy, 4 other ministers resign ahead of reshuffle

Cabinet Reshuffle on Sunday new ministers to be sworn in before Modi leaves for China

As a precursor to the mega exercise, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Sanjeev Balyan, and Faggan Singh Kulaste resigned from the Council of Ministers on Thursday.

A slew of ministers has been asked to resign by the BJP before the possible reshuffle of the cabinet by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is likely to happen before PM leaves for BRICS on September 3.

Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State (Indepe-ndent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrep-reneurship, has reportedly resigned on Thursday.

A reshuffle will help the Narendra Modi government weed out the dead wood from the government and infuse new blood in the cabinet. Rudy's exit from the ministry has come just when reports of a cabinet-reshuffle-cum-expansion are getting stronger.

Kumar had left the NDA in 2013 but returned dramatically last month, dumping his poll partners Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress to renew an alliance with the BJP. Yet trips made by Union ministers such as Kalraj Mishra and Dharmendra Pradhan to Shah's residence only added more grist to the mill.

Earlier in the day, BJP president Amit Shah chaired a meeting of top BJP leaders in the national capital, ANI reported.

USA retaliates against Russian Federation by giving diplomats the boot from major cities
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson gave Lavrov the order Thursday , telling him the closures needed to happen by Saturday. A State Department official said they would have "sufficient time" to pack their things and move out.

Prime Minister Modi had himself conveyed this over the last few days to the ministers and assigned future roles for them, sources said.

There is no clarity, yet, on the future of Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, who had offered to quit over derailment of the Utkal Express.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley are also likely to attend the meet in Vridavan on Saturday.

"At least not for very long", Jaitley said in response to questions on how long he would continue as Defence Minister.

Rudy and Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh are two Rajput Ministers from Bihar.

The last Cabinet reshuffle took place in July previous year, in which Modi inducted 19 new faces and elevated Minister of State for Environment Prakash Javadekar to Cabinet rank.
