North Korea's Nuclear Detonation

US warns of ‘massive military response’ following N. Korea H-bomb detonation

Britain is looking at all ways it can put pressure on North Korea after Pyongyang conducted a nuclear test, Prime Minister Theresa May's spokeswoman said on Monday, adding that peaceful diplomatic solutions were preferable.

However, it appears that Kim Jong Un has forgotten who he's up against.

Neighboring South Korea said it wants to answer with the strongest measures possible but gave no specifics.

It has always been accepted that North Korea has intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) capable of reaching the mainland of the United States.

Hours after the test, US President took to Twitter, writing: "North Korea has conducted a major Nuclear Test".

Asked about Mr Turnbull's call for China to do more, a foreign ministry spokesman said, "for a long time China has been working relentlessly for the settlement of this issue. we keep stressing we can't rely exclusively on China".

Such a move would have serious ramifications, resulting in a halt to United States trade with China, who remains its key economic partner.

It would not be the first time North Korea exaggerated its achievements - they wrongly claimed to have tested an H-bomb last January - but the country is not only on the right path towards achieving its ambitions, but it is doing so far quicker than anyone expected.

"I did speak with the president", Mnuchin also said Sunday.

US President Donald Trump was briefed on all possible military options against North Korea during a meeting with his national security team on Sunday, Mattis said. "North Korea is a rogue nation which has become a great threat and embarrassment to China, which is trying to help but with little success".

White House holds national security meeting, pushes harsher sanctions after North Korea's nuclear test

Kim Jong-Un was reportedly all hands on deck, watching the hydrogen bomb get loaded on top of the missile.

The U.N. Security Council announced that it will have a meeting about the nuclear test tomorrow morning.

His comments are coming after leaders around the world jointly condemned North Korea's testing of its sixth nuclear missile.

The Japan Meteorological Agency also observed a magnitude-6.1 tremor in North Korea, which showed a different waveform from a natural quake.

The move is a show of defiance against Washington and the global community. But he summed up North Korea's rapid progress with a dire warning.

"The Trump Administration could announce that it is prepared to intercept future North Korean missile tests, when feasible", Bennett said.

The Defense secretary's statement matches President Trump's recent hawkish statements regarding North Korea.

Moon "will never allow North Korea to continue advancing its nuclear and missile technologies", said Moon's national security adviser, Chung Eui-yong.

Experts say hydrogen bombs use nuclear fusion and can be up to a thousand times or more powerful than an atomic bomb.

O'Carroll said he expects North Korea to soon launch a new test of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) with a long-range trajectory of thousands of miles into the Pacific Ocean.
