Miami Dolphins star wide receiver under investigation

Jarvis Landry

A decision on possible charges is not expected to come this week.

The Miami Dolphins are aware that wide receiver Jarvis Landry is reportedly under investigation for possible battery, head coach Adam Gase told reporters on Monday.

The Broward County State Attorney's office addressed the investigation in an e-mail Monday stating the allegations were still being reviewed and that it was uncertain whether Landry would be charged. Later on Monday, Landry's girlfriend, Estrella Cerqueira, refuted those reports in a written statement.

The dispute involved Landry's girlfriend, who is the mother of his daughter, according to a report from WINZ radio's Andy Slater.

Cerqueira said that she did not call police, but that someone else did. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards each of the last two seasons and caught a single season team record 110 passes in 2015.
