Former CNN commentator Kayleigh McEnany hosts "real news" videos for President Trump

President Trump makes an announcement on the introduction of the Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy Act with Sen. Tom Cotton left and Sen. David Perdue

In Sunday's video, McEnany announced that Trump has created more than 1 million jobs since becoming president, that unemployment is "at a 16-year-low" and "consumer confidence is at a 16-year high".

She went on to praise a new proposed bill slashing immigration to the U.S.: "Americans deserve a raise, and President Trump is finally putting the American worker first", she said.

"Thank you for joining us, everybody", she concluded.

Critics are calling this state TV but they're getting surprising pushback from the head of the White House Correspondents' Association.

Her sudden promotion comes only two days after she announced her exit from CNN, where she was a consistent pro-Trump commentator.

A background behind her says DonaldTrump.com and Trump Pence. "West Wing Week" doesn't play like an ersatz news broadcast to me; it's more of a behind-the-scenes look at the White House to give the viewer a sense of personal connection with Obama, although the goal - highlighting his achievements - is the same as the Trump clip.

There is plenty from Trump's momentous week that it entirely leaves out.

"This is what Trump wants the news to be like".

Stephen Colbert joked on "The Late Show" that Trump had stolen his idea for a "real news" show. Congress crafted the legislation to tie his hands and prevent the executive from lifting Russian Federation sanctions.

Nor did McEnany explain what she meant by the comment. "I will be moving to a new role".

We didn't have to stay tuned for long.

Trump TV premiered Sunday on the President's Facebook page.

Her online bio describes herself as 'Christian. "She is a graduate of Harvard Law School with a Juris Doctor and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service with a BSFS in International Politics". Oxford University. Cardinals Fan!'

"Wow. Feels eerily like so many state-owned channels I've watched in other countries", is how America's former ambassador to Moscow Michael McFaul put it.
