Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp jokes about £268m bid for Naby Keita

Angry Star Tells Agent To Secure Move As Liverpool Prepare £70m+ Offer

On Saturday, Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl reiterated their stance on Keita and said there was no chance the midfielder would leave this summer.

The newspaper claims that the Reds have seen two bids turned down from the German side for the midfielder, including one worth more than £66million.

The 22-year-old has emerged as Jurgen Klopp's number one target, though the Reds have had two club-record bids of £57 million and £66m both rejected out of hand.

Jurgen Klopp had targeted the Guinea worldwide, 22, as being someone who would provide drive and dynamism to his midfield and was prepared to back his judgment of the player with the biggest transfer outlay in the club's history. Today, the latest on Liverpool's pursuit of Naby Keita...

"Our next offer for Keita is €300m!" he jested whilst enjoying a conversation with Sky Deutschland.

"The chance [of him leaving] is null", he said during a press conference that followed a 1-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.

Iranians: US Navy ship fired warning flares in Persian Gulf
In a similar incident on Tuesday, the USS Thunderbolt fired warning shots at Iranian navy boats operating in the Persian Gulf. Mr Araghchi said the new sanctions are "a breach of the deal in articles 26, 28 and 29".

The player will have a €50 million release clause on his contract next summer though and it is hard to see him remaining at the club beyond that time.

Keita scored eight goals and registered seven assists in the league as Leipzig finished second in its first Bundesliga campaign, earning Champions League qualification.

He said, as quoted by the Telegraph: "The new players are maybe better than people thought they will be".

"For us, everyone can see how important Naby Keita is to our game, Emil Forsberg also. I think he is more focused than a year ago".

"Until next summer, we'll keep [the door] closed and then we'll have a look", the Austrian coach stated.

"It's normal when you play such a famous season that other clubs are watching us and you get interest", he said.
