Liverpool Pre-Season Training Underway, Klopp Looks Ahead to Champions League Qualifier

Jurgen Klopp is feeling upbeat about Liverpool's busy start to the Premier League season

Liverpool are looking to build on a fourth-place finish in last season's top flight, a result that puts them in next month's Champions League play-off round.

Liverpool were firmly in the thick of the Premier League title race last season until the turn of the year, which then saw a disastrous collapse from the Reds, meaning a slide out of contention and elimination from the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.

But Jurgen Klopp regards the winger as "unsellable at any price" according to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

The centre-half, who has been capped by his country's senior team three times and made his full global debut back in June 2014, signed for Lyon past year after having begun his career at Argentinean side River Plate.

The Reds have been strongly linked with £70m rated RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita but been unable to agree a deal.

"We are now one of the top four teams in England last season, so now we want to keep this situation and work with it and improve".

The German, who was also Borussia Dortmund and Switzerland boss, has hailed Klopp's managerial quality and believes the 50-year-old is the man to end the long wait for a league title at Anfield. "That's a real reason for real optimism".

"We all know in a few weeks we have these qualifiers and there will be pressure on the game", added Klopp.

Former Chelsea man Salah returns to the Premier League after three fine seasons in Italy - scoring 29 goals in 65 appearances for Fiorentina and Roma.

"It was a wonderful rest for all of us, absolutely deserved", Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com at the training ground. So I'm ready to go.
