Diego Costa Is Supposedly Delaying His Transfer As "Revenge" Against Antonio Conte

Romelu Lukaku

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Blues manager has told the Premier League champions to re-sign the Belgium global at any price this summer.

Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to sign Romelu Lukaku even if the striker costs his former club £100m, according to reports in the English media.

Express Sport understands Chelsea have made him their No1 choice to replace Diego Costa.

United, meanwhile, are aiming to fill the void left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departure.

He lost the chance to sign Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann when the Spaniards were handed a transfer ban and switched targets to Morata.

Chelsea will be hoping to resolve the issue as quickly as possible in order to concentrate on signing Lukaku, who would of course be Costa's direct replacement.

Lukaku is now on holiday with United ace Paul Pogba and is said to be open to working with Jose Mourinho again.

Lukaku, of course, moved to Everton on loan from Chelsea back in 2013 and it is a return to west London that is considered the most likely outcome for the striker this summer, with Betfair Sportsbook offering 8/15 (1.53) that the big Belgian joins the Blues for a second time.

Reports have suggested the 24-year-old prefers a move to Chelsea but BBC presenter Askam claims the player's camp is encouraging him to choose United instead.

However, with Champions League football to offer, they could be set to meet Everton's £100million asking price for Lukaku as well as splurging £60m on Morata.
