20 injured after turbulence in China Eastern plane during flight

At least 20 people have been injured, four of them seriously, after an worldwide China Eastern Airlines flight from Paris hit turbulence over southwest China, according to state news media.

The post, which was uploaded an hour after the flight landed in Kunming, said "some passengers experienced discomfort" after the plane was hit by turbulence.

Another passenger said there was strong turbulence twice and minor turbulence three times during the 10 minute ordeal.

During that time, passengers suffered broken bones, cuts and other injuries as some hit the overhead bins and others were struck by falling luggage, according to state news agency Xinhua.

"Flight landed safely in Kunming, medical services were arranged", the statement added.
