Trump Appears to Confirm That He's Being Personally Investigated

Trump may have been referring to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who wrote a highly critical memo about Comey.

The Democratic National Committee said on Friday it saw a need for Rosenstein to recuse himself, but it said control over the investigation should be given to Mueller and not another Trump appointee.

Speaking to Harris Faulkner, Wallace said Trump once again kept Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation at the top of the headlines.

Until now, the White House has been essentially silent on whether Trump was actually a target of a federal investigation.

In his conversations with Brand, Rosenstein told the No. 3 Justice Department official that she would take over these responsibilities if he made a decision to step aside.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has privately told colleagues that he may have to recuse himself from the Russian Federation probe, according to ABC News.

It was not clear whether the President was basing his tweet on direct knowledge that he is under investigation, or on reports this week that special counsel Robert Mueller is examining whether the President obstructed justice by firing Mr Comey last month amid the ongoing Russian Federation investigation.

Rod Rosenstein, deputy attorney general nominee for US President Donald Trump, listens during a Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing in Washington, DC, US, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

At the height of her pop powers, Perry scored a record-breaking six USA number one singles from 2010's Teenage Dream album. In a new interview, Katy accused Taylor off attempting to " assassinate my character" in the song Bad Blood .

Trump made similar comments about Comey in the weeks leading up to his dismissal.

Adding to the confusion is the fact that the special investigation is now being led by another former FBI director.

Notably, James Comey, who was sacked by Trump last month, publicly testified this month that Trump had told him to ease off on his former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who was under the FBI investigation for his Russian links.

President Trump is tweeting his displeasure with the direction of the Russian Federation probe, which reportedly is now veering into an obstruction of justice investigation.

The tweets also are seen by some in the president's circle as the beginning of a case against the officials investigating him. Trump also acknowledged, for the first time publicly, that he is under federal investigation. "Regulations way down, jobs and enthusiasm way up!", Trump tweeted.

"The message the president is sending through his tweets is that he believes the rule of law doesn't apply to him and that anyone who thinks otherwise will be fired", Feinstein said.

The White House confirmed Mr Mueller was among the candidates the president interviewed to replace Mr Comey.

Trump has been told repeatedly not to post such missives on Twitter but has decided he is in for a political fight, according to one outside adviser briefed on the strategy.
