Sony's 'Venom' and 'Black Cat' Spinoffs Will Connect To 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

MARVEL PASpider-Man Homecoming Tom Holland reveals AWKWARD first meeting with Robert Downey Jr

The development of these Spider-Man spin-offs seem counter-intuitive considering how successful Spider-Man: Homecoming looks to be this summer, now tracking between $90 million and $108 million for an opening weekend.

With less than three weeks to go until the wall-crawler swings back into theaters, Marvel and Sony have unveiled a new poster for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which we have for you here; take a look... While Spider-Man is now mixed into the Avengers universe, for at least the next few feature films, anything Sony was planning was reportedly separate from any of Marvel productions.

Many have wondered the entailments of the deal that Marvel and Sony struck in 2014 to get the Sony-owned Spider-Man into the world of the Avengers.

Following the very big announcement that Sony and Disney would be partnering up to create a new, fresh take on Spider-Man that would take place in the cinematic universe, fans have been excited. "It'll be adjunct to it, it may be different locations, but it will all still be in the same world and they will be connected to each other as well". But before that moment, he looks a little on edge, perhaps not entirely sure what Amy Pascal is talking about. How can Tom Holland appear as Spider-Man in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Venom and Black Cat/Silver Sable spin-off without the latter two movies existing in the MCU? However, it isn't surprising that the shared universe would include Peter Parker as Venom has always been a major part of the Spider-Man comics.

Mad Max: Fury Road star Tom Hardy was recently cast as Eddie Brock in the standalone film for the Spider-Man villain, which will be led by Zombieland and Gangster Squad director Ruben Fleischer. We will just have to wait and see.
