Cosby judge declares mistrial as jury deadlocks again

Camille Cosby Calls Out DA Judge in Prepared Statement

That's the warning victim's rights attorney Gloria Allred issued to Bill Cosby shortly after a Pennsylvania judge declared a mistrial Saturday in Cosby's sexual offense case after the jury repeatedly failed to reach a verdict. Afterwards, prosecutor Kevin Steele announced in court that he will retry Cosby.

By now, Cosby should have been taking an extended victory lap - transitioning into life as "America's Granddad", while practicing the storytelling-driven standup style he turned into an art form.

Bill Cosby is back in court for the sixth day of jury deliberations in his sexual assault trial. "It has been restored", Wyatt said.

"We can never underestimate the blinding power of celebrity, but justice will come", Allred, who represents other women who have accused Cosby of similar attacks, told CNN's Fredricka Whitfield.

During Schaffer's cross-examination, lead defense attorney Brian McMonagle zeroed in on discrepancies in Constand's accounts regarding the date of the incident, while also noting that she crossed out sentences in her sworn statement.

"How do I describe the judge?" Overtly and arrogantly collaborating with the District Attorney.

One particular phrase the jury asked to clarify was the context under which Cosby described the three pills he gave Constand as "little friends".

The judge instructed jurors they are not allowed to disclose any conversations, votes or comments made during the 52-hour deliberation.

"I just want to wish all of the fathers a happy Father's Day", Cosby said. She denied they had a romantic relationship and said she had rebuffed previous advances from him.

The accuser in the case is Temple University employee Andrea Constand, who was a guest at Cosby's house in Cheltenham Township on an evening in January 2004.

President Trump cited the probe into Hillary Clinton's emails as a key reason for her not to be trusted with the presidency. . Since his election, the predictions have proven mostly true, aside from one major detail - he wasn't talking about himself.

Cosby's career and good-guy image were already in tatters by the time his chief accuser took the stand and described how Cosby gave her pills and then penetrated her with his fingers as she lay paralyzed on a couch, unable to tell him to stop.

O'Neill said the jury's deliberations were some of the most "courageous and selfless acts I've ever seen".

"I feel bad for all of you".

Cosby has said any sexual activity was consensual.

Cosby forged a special connection with children, dispensing laughs and wisdom from a cartoon junkyard in 1970s Saturday morning staple "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids", and even in commercials for Jell-O.

But it was his reputation as a public moralist who urged young people to pull up their saggy trousers and start acting responsibly that prompted a federal judge to unseal portions of an explosive deposition he gave more than a decade ago as part of Constand's civil lawsuit against him. The wire service released the document - in which Cosby admitted that he obtained quaaludes, a sedative, with the intent of giving the drug to women he wanted to have sex with.

In the deposition, the I Spy star stated that he gave Constand three half-tablets of Benadryl before the touching began.

She reported the crime to police in 2005 and filed a civil suit against Cosby after prosecutors declined to press charges.

Cosby had been charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault.

Dozens of women have come forward to say he drugged and assaulted them, but this was the only case to result in criminal charges. But in most of those cases, the statute of limitations had expired by the time the women told their stories publicly. "This is talking to a lover", McMonagle said of one call that lasted 49 minutes.
